Evangelical Capitalist
Our 'Kindness Deficit' of Care We ration health care, harshly, by income and price. People with money get topnotch treatment. Those without scramble for what they can get. I saw this article and immediately wanted to throw up. Not that I can say I'm surprised, but the blatant reversal of the meaning of the concept of rationing is just apalling. Apparently it's now considered "rationing" to provide services only to those who can pay for them. The free market now imposes "rations", not the government. How twisted do you have to be? Godless Capitalist
We ration Lexuses by income and price, too, and nobody complains about that. The issue with health care is that many people consider it to be a "right," which of course it isn't.
erik
You need food more than health care, with that reasoning why not provide food for everyone too. You could call it "Food Security".
Michelangelo
God, her writing style is so infuriating. As I'm reading it, I feel as if I'm being mocked at the whole time.
Evangelical Capitalist
God, her writing style is so infuriating. As I'm reading it, I feel as if I'm being mocked at the whole time. This is probably a bad thing to admit, since I posted the link, but I couldn't force myself any further than the first few paragraphs. Godless Capitalist
Yes, I also find her virtually unreadable so I just skimmed the article. One interesting fact that was left out: most of the 45 million uninsured are either eligible for medicare, medicaid, etc and choose not to sign up, or can afford private insurance and choose not to buy it.
