It looks like I'll be sticking with Mercedes for many years to come.  I was eyeing up the new Mustangs until I read this article; the legislation discussed is set to affect all American-manufactured vehicles:

Get your mustang before the legislation takes effect, if that's the car you really want.

Very nice. I am considering getting a Mustang convertible, but not until sometime next year. :-/

I don’t think this should stop you from buying American cars, since the manufacturers have no choice in the matter, and the black box is easily disabled.

Oh definitely, if disabling the box is an option, I'd certainly consider buying American. But I'm just wondering if laws will be enacted to illegalize such modifications. I wouldn't put it past them.

:D With my driving habits, I don't want anybody to see a comprehensive record of speed, or cornering, etc. It just creates too much potential for government to regulate something that I personally enjoy so much.
