More details on the case:

Not only is the sentence unbelievably harsh, especially considering that he paid his exorbitant alleged back taxes (50%), but they convicted him on conjecture without solid evidence.

This doesn't surprise me coming from an authoritarian socialist state such as Norway. But what does surprise me is that the Norwegian court has decided to give him a harsher punishment even than that given to Ai Weiwei by China, known for their violations of human rights.

In response to the article, is this even allowed?

Can a man be convicted of a crime in Norway without being present to defend himself? That seems a little messed up.

Also, the guy sounds like a classic tinfoil weirdo, especially given this declaration:

"He said in court that he thinks the tax evasion charges were a means of pushing him towards suicide."
