Ninth Doctor
Reading the comments section reminds me why fans of Rand try to avoid the Objectivist movement. Really, why? Do you object to people writing inaccurate things about the Brandens, or to people providing evidence to correct such inaccuracies? This is nothing like Checking Premises, where they hem and haw about how people must “show respect” for bad arguments because of the mouth they proceed from, this is simply about getting facts right. If you want to understand the motives at work, here’s some reading you ought to do: http://www.objectivi...36 http://www.objectivi...28 Bottom line: a serious charge of plagiarism hangs over this author’s head, and one of the Brandens once voiced support for the accuser. This coincided with a change in attitude on her part. Now, I’m not saying it’s a duck, I merely point to the waddle and the quack.
softwareNerd
Reading the comments section reminds me why fans of Rand try to avoid the Objectivist movement. This is one reason. I think the other is the dogmatic "Objectivists". In reality, they're like two sides of the same coin: starting from the same base, but building in "opposite" directions.
