Also cam across an article about teaching babies, even newborns, to read:


Well, in the case of newborns it's teaching them a basic sign language, and then getting them to associate it with written words. This latter practice seems like a bad idea (or, at best, a pointless diversion), but the sign language, and the idea of teaching babies to read as they learn to speak, are intriguing.

I'm especially curious about the opinions of members who have children, or who work with children (since I don't).
