The Ghost and the Darkness (2016)

Based on the book: The Man-Eaters of Tsavo by Lieutenant Colonel John Henry Patterson

I was looking for a movie that explored why animals that kill people are searched for and destroyed, and this delivered.

Two exchanges that stood out:

"You build bridges, John. You have to go where the rivers are." — Helena Patterson

"Have you ever failed?", asked Colonel Patterson.
"Only at life.", answered Remington

Whenever I read about the two ways men can deal with each other, and how men deal with wild animals, this movie is what I think of.

It's probably not all that true to what actually happened (since most of what we know is based on the account of Colonel Patterson himself).

Still, though, it seems that even the lies were just better in that century.

There's a disconnect here. The man who advocates rising back up when knocked down should not be one that views his life as a failure.

... just sayin'.
