Salamandra
Hello there, I am new here and I'd like to say some words about myself and probably hear some advice from you how to use this forum's options properly Well I am 17 F coming from Lithuania. I might seem young at first but believe me, I've seen good and bad things in life already and what is more being able to share my mind and my ideas about the world and know yours is my biggest interest. I am interested in nearly everything - from politics to sport & art and I try to look at things in the objective way. I am in the debating team so discussions are the part of my life! Well, I'm glad to be in this forum - I guess I seem to you like coming from another world but this may prove useful or/and interesting. Have a good day! realitycheck44
Hey- welcome to the forum. Don't worry about the age thing. People generally don't care as long as you are polite. I'm sixteen (I joined when I was fifteen) but no one seems to care. It's really cool. To us, a good idea is just that: a good idea. Have you read any of Miss Rand's books? If so, which ones? (If not, you should go get a copy of The Fountainhead or Atlas Shrugged right now.) Also, you aren't coming from an entirely different world. We have members from all over the globe, some from Europe also. Is English your first language? You speak it quite well. Welcome and I look forward to your posts. Salamandra
Thanks for kind words Zak! I guess you're right about the age after all, I didn't have chance to read the author's you named books (what is more - I even haven't heard about them as there is not so much of such stuff in our libraries and bookstores) but probably I will, especially since you reccommend them. No, English is my third language actually (besides Lithuanian and Russian) - I have simply started learning it quite long ago. All the best! Salamandra
By the way, does anyone can be so kind and tell me how to be able to put those "footers" ( writings in blue) beneath e the text ?
Free Capitalist
Hi Salamandra, The "footers" are called "signatures" and if you go into your profile, you can edit them.

This website is actually dedicated to Ayn Rand's philosophy, Objectivism, and these are two of her fiction books. Atlas Shrugged is my favorite book. It's a bit long, but more than worth it's weight in gold. No, English is my third language actually (besides Lithuanian and Russian) - I have simply started learning it quite long ago. Holy smokes! That is quite amazing. I'm studying Spanish right now, but I'll have three years at the end of this year- so I won't need to take it next year. I'd rather take technical writing! It will be interesting to see what you think of the website without actually having read any of the books pertaining to the philosophy. Not that it's required, but most people have. I hope you enjoy the books (providing you find them) and the forum. Zak
