Groovenstein
In light of the discussion about physical attraction, I thought it would be fun and informative to have a discussion about particular women people find attractive. (I've also started a thread about men.) Reasons are important in this thread. Is it her physique? Her smile? Her confident stance? What about this woman makes you happy? Posting links is cool, too. Particularly if she's not so famous.
HaloNoble6
A gorgeous actress that moonlights as a mathematician, Danica McKeller is incredible. The Times has a profile on her, and Stuff magazine has a photo shoot and interview with her wearing black lingerie as well. Oh, and don't let me forget to mention that she developed a major math proof that bears her name by the time she was a senior at UCLA; if you've taken some Complex Analysis and Statistical Mechanics, perhaps you can read her paper, "Percolation and Gibbs States Multiplicity for Ferromagnetic Ashkin-Teller Models on Z^2." Groovenstein
"Percolation and Gibbs States Multiplicity for Ferromagnetic Ashkin-Teller Models on Z^2." Forget writing that, I'd be pretty proud of myself if I could pronounce it.
Groovenstein
Speaking of Danicas, I think Danica Patrick is gorgeous. Inviting eyes, beautiful body, and a talented driver to boot! There's something about a woman that's really good at what she does that makes her go from beautiful to off the charts. Here's an FHM shoot: http://www.fhmus.com/girls/covergirls/danicapatrick/1.asp

IdeaSave
A woman I find stunning is a country music artist by the name of Sara Evans. I also think she has the best voice in popular music today. You can find photos and a sample of her latest single at http://www.saraevans.com/. Groovenstein
Alright Felipe, you're far too busy in the man thread. Get back here with your own. But seriously . . . Yes, Sara Evans is cute, and I too like her vocal stylings. She has a very "pure"--i.e. flawless intonation, not gritty--voice. This is not to say that I don't like gritty voices, because I do sometimes. Since the last one (the lovely Ms. Patrick) went over so well, I'll stick to the world of female athletes. I am attracted to serious athletes in general because I admire their dedicated pursuit and achievement of physical and mental excellence. Here are a couple specific women who are, to put it mildly, easy on the eye: Sue Bird plays for the WNBA's Seattle Storm, so she's cute AND can dish the rock. http://www.sports-wired.com/women/Sue_Bird.html Maria Sharapova, a Wimbledon champion tennis player. "Goddess," as people generally use it, might describe Ms. Sharapova. I prefer "human" and "woman." And "drop-dead gorgeous." http://www.sports-wired.com/women/Maria_Sharapova.html Tara Lipinski, an Olympic figure skater. Behold, ye men, the grace and beauty of the figure skater. http://www.sports-wired.com/women/Tara_Lipinski.html More sports women at: http://www.sports-wired.com/women/ No, I have nothing to do with this site. How rude of you to suggest such a thing. It is, however, as you will see, a good resource for pictures of women in sports.
Felix
A gorgeous actress that moonlights as a mathematician, Danica McKeller is incredible. Good Lord! That's Winnie Cooper. I was in love with her when I was little and watched Wonderful Years. And it turns out she's smart and even became more beautiful. That's the kind of woman I like. JMeganSnow
Alright Felipe, you're far too busy in the man thread. Get back here with your own.  But seriously . . . There's no reason why a man can't have an opinion on what constitutes being an attractive man. After all, how on earth are you supposed to know whether or not YOU are attractive if you can't evaluate members of the same sex at all? I'd like to see more guys over there helping us evaluate what makes men look good. :pout: Wish I could post a picture of me over here, but oh well. DavidV
Of course no list of beautiful women is complete without the inclusion of Audrey Hepburn. I mean, for god sake, she even looked good as a nun!
Rex Little
Kristin Kreuk (Lana Lang on Smallville) has absolutely the prettiest face I've ever seen. She's Exhibit A for my belief that mixed-race women (she's half Chinese, half European) have the best looks.
Free Thinker
Two suggestions: Lauren Bacall (esp. in Key Largo). As shown here She has a certain ferocity about her that I find very attractive. Jessica Alba (or as my friends and I always refer to her as - Jessica Hotba) As shown here Hotba reminds me of a kitten. A really hot kitten. A really hot kitten that I wouldn't mind dating. Groovenstein
Since it appears we've taken something of an old school turn, I must recognize Rita Hayworth. http://www.starpulse.com/Actresses/Haywort...View.html?pic=5 I haven't seen any of her movies, but if she's as happy in them as she looks in these pictures, they must be a pleasure to watch. That smile is killer. Oh, and she's not famous (that I know of), but the model in Bryan Larsen's "Winter Evening" might be the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. I have a hard time articulating it with this one, but she just screams "feminine" to me. http://www.cordair.com/larsen/winterevening.aspx Wow. JMeganSnow
Um, that comment of Felipe's was a joke, albeit a rather annoyed one. We went over the difference between liking to look at members of the opposite sex and actually picking one for your mate over in The Man Thread. IdeaSave
Old school? What about Greta Garbo? In "Queen Christina" (and many other films) she was the epitome of strong (intellectually and otherwise) and feminine. No modern actress has come close to her, as far as I know. Katherine Hepburn, maybe. Mark Peters ... and also, what about Maureen O'Hara? "This Land is Mine" is one of the greatest movies ever, and _she_ was magnificent in it ... in more ways than one. There are many reasons why I sometimes wish that I was 20 in 1943, and she is one of them! Edited August 21, 2005 by IdeaSave
Groovenstein
It would be great if those of you who haven't included links could do so. It makes it more enjoyable for the rest of us, and helps you communicate your point more effectively because we get to see a specific image that proves your point. softwareNerd
Okay, time to give this an international flavor. Here are a couple of Indian (a.k.a Bollywood) actresses from the 60s and 70s. The first, named Nutan, was one of the top starts of (I think) the 60s. (The photo is kind of dreamy!) The second, Tanuja, was never one of the topmost stars, butn (though the picture does not show) she always exhibited a very zesty sense of life. Even when very young, that struck me and stuck with me -- she rarely played the role of the submissive Indian woman. (That may have been a reason she often played the heroine's younger rebellious sister rather than getting the lead roles herself.)
IdeaSave
Here is a link for Maureen O'Hara: http://www.reelclassics.com/Actresses/O'Hara/ohara.htm and another for Greta Garbo: http://home.hiwaay.net/~oliver/garbointro.htm For both, you'll get a much better sense of their beauty by watching their movies. "This Land is Mine" and "Queen Christina" are excellent places to start. Mark Peters
Michero
Of course no list of beautiful women is complete without the inclusion of Audrey Hepburn. I mean, for god sake, she even looked good as a nun! Agreed. As well as another Hepburn-- Katherine. I think it's mostly her personality but she has a hard edge look yet still so feminine. I also think Jodie Foster is beautiful as well as Gwyneth Paltrow who I used to not like but now do admire her quite a bit. She has a very classy look.
