Martian Polar Ice Melting

What you suggest occurred to me when I read the article, but perhaps it isn't conclusive...

That article might be supporting evidence for global warming through solar activity. I wouldn't know if Sol affects Mars in the same way it affects Earth. It might affect Mars less due to distance, or more do to a lack of atmospheric shielding. In order to determine if it is evidence against anthropomorphic global warming, I think we need to crunch more data.

To my knowledge, nobody has done the appropriate study yet. I think this story looks promising, but it will take some time before the envirotheists dispel one of their favorite doomsday theories.

They will only do so when they have replacement theories that can make people feel guilty and let believers take actions that can make themselves feel virtuous (as in Michelle's bird-avoidance post).

Well, they can start feeling virtuous when they realize that re-creation of nature is proper for man, and that non-rational animals don't have rights. Until then the can blaspheme all they want.

I'm sure it has to do with Bush, somehow.

Please, allow me to add the :P for sarcasm... Wait a minute! Isn't Bush trying to get his socialist paws on Mars? :homestar:

You actually might have something here. :glare:

Thanks for posting a link to your site. The religious nature of the environmentalists movement is best symbolized by the "Voluntary Human Extinction Project". When I first saw their site, I thought it was a spoof, but it appears that the main guy (a professor, no surprise) is serious about it.

Wow. The VHEMT seems to offer moral support to even more heinous ideas. This just serves to add support to my theory that before islamafascism is defeated it will ally with envirotheism.

I thought I'd that I'd actually posted a message on this thread but apparently not (or there's a system glitch ...)

My website at http://environmentalism.com has a link to this site, which graphs the correlation between solar activity and terrestrial warming.

But where is the study relating Mars temperature to solar activity? I don't think we will be able to do this one for some time.

They have a Yahoo Group where you can object, which I just did, asking why in the world human extinction is supposed to be good (which is the flawed basic premise of this gibberish). But I still approve of their means which are completely voluntary and nonviolent. It's just that their goal sucks.

Here is my post:

I truly approve of your means by which you want to reach you goal. A nonviolent way is a refreshingly new approach to the force-and-violence-approach displayed by so many of todays enviromentalists.

But why do you want to extinct humanity?

You said that the planet is whole and healthy and happy again.

Why is this important?

I still don't see the intrinsic value of a 'healthy nature'.

Besides, I still question the idea that humans are not part of nature. This view of nature is quite flawed. Defining nature as everything that is not human is quite a mean anti-human statement. This means that humans don't have any value by definition, because only nature does and man is not part of it. Which is why you want to see yourself extinct.

I hope I get some meaningful answers to this,

Felix.

Btw. I just discovered that they write nature with a capital letter at the beginning, like Christians write god.

So much for the theory of ecotheism.

Woah, someone was brave enough to take the environmentalist movement's premises to its logical conclusion.

If you want to call it 'bravery.'

Global warming on Mars? Bush must have Haliburton up there drilling for oil and polluting the Martian atmosphere. This must be stopped!! No blood for Martian oil!!!

:)

I do believe this supports the theory that global climate change is largely the result of changes in the solar system that humans have no control over.

Hopefully now people will wake up and start thinking up ways to help humans deal with climate changes that might occur instead of trying to stop the inevitable.
