softwareNerd
I was quite amused to see someone trying to brand boots "Objectivist". Why "Objectivist"? Well, supposedly they combine form and function. Patent/copyright aside, I thinks it's funny. gnargtharst
I've seen these shoes elsewhere, but I could not find a source after googling around a bit. The same manfacturer(?)/seller also offers: communist, socialist, utilitarian, individualist, etc. shoes. Very odd.
softwareNerd
He figures that if giving it a particular name will make someone buy it, he's happy to oblige. This marketing technique is similar to "The Liberty Dollar".
dondigitalia
The least he could do is not make it ugly.
softwareNerd
I think they really were surplus Communist boots.
gnargtharst
The ones I saw before were all different -- the "communists" were one design, the "individulaists" another, the "utilitarians" another, and so on. Some of them were pretty nice. Others, like the "objectivists" pictured here, were pretty ugly. I wonder if they accept noumenal money for the "Kantians"?
