This reminds me of the later Mortal Kombat videogames where Quan Chi and Shang-Tseung form a "Deadly alliance." Lol. Except that neither Cindy nor Hugo are sorcerers or can throw fireballs or flaming skulls at their opponents (thank god for small favors...ha ha).

On the topic of Hugo Chavez, isn't it interesting how all the eco-socialist/green zealots get hysterical over the prospect of drilling in ANWR, yet their hero (and Dubya's nemesis) is proposing a massive oil pipeline through the pristine Amazon?

I work with someone who comes from Venezuela and he left that country for a reason -- in order to work in a freer country where he could pursue his life and happiness. Hugo Chavez is a thug who terrorizes his own people by promising lavish social benefits to gangs of youth who are his own little militias. The left still hasn't learned their lesson after supporting murderous thug nations and dictators over the past century. When will they ever learn? When?

Eh. It is more than that. Liberal logic i(HA...if you can call it that) is that exceptions must be made for the developing world. Their idea is that the industrial revolution happened without anyone complaining about pollution and the industrial revolution essentially created the "developed" world. Thus, the underdeveloped world must be allowed to pollute as much as they please with wanton abandon so that way "the people" can get to a position of equality with the developed world and that way they aren't abused by the big bad hegemonic west *rolls eyes*. After all, it would be unfair and racist to insist that the South Americans cease pollution when we started out as "evil polluters". . <----(more sarcasm).

There is also the fact that liberals know damn good and well that when you are concerned with feeding your children and yourself in a poor country (that has a lot of natural resources) you aren't going to listen to any smelly hippy telling you to let your kids starve while saving some endandgered butterfly or some such crap. They KNOW that their unreasonable demands would get them laughed at. Just let some Latin American really take off and I think you would see just how fast the liberals change their tune and demand environmental regulation.

Contradictions like this are the sacrament of the irrational Left it seems, and the blood and money of the people they exploit could be qualified as their Eucharist. The Left is not interested in sustaining the environment persay, but rather in curing Mother Earth of the blight that they view continuing to plaque her, humanity.

I myself have known a person from Venezuela and he actually had some rather harsh terms for the people who live in Venezuela, I remember at one point he referred to them as "A race of thugs who would rather loot the crops of their neighbor's farm rather than try to grow their own." To me it's all tyranny under the guise of helping the poor. If you wish to help the poor, you teach them how to NOT be poor.

And as for the Left ever learning, it will not happen, it is against their religion to learn.
