Alethiometry
I'm having some difficulty writing a statement of purpose for several science internships I have recently applied for. It would be really neat if I could incorporate Objectivism in my essay somehow, but I don't know if this is tactful or appropriate. Does anyone have any general advice on how to write a good statement of purpose and/or a statement of purpose that could relate a science-oriented academic career to Objectivism? Thanks! softwareNerd
Caveat: I've never written one. My thought is that you should write in terms your audience would understand. So, you'd write about the specific values -- rationality, productiveness -- rather than leaving it abstract by naming a philosophy. Even naming something like "rationality" is quite abstract. I'd think you'd want to concretize.
