Guest bartwart
My real name's Eddie but I like the moniker bartwart for some reason. I graduated in 2000 with a undergraduate degree in physics, but I love to discuss a broad array of topics. I've spent a lot of time at the Atari Community forums trying to stamp out liberalism and socialism, and it's starting to wear on me. The hordes are endless!!!! I'm not sure if I would call myself an objectivist. I joined my friend's college objectivist club a few months ago and since then I've done a lot of research on the topic. Yes, I have read parts of Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead years ago. Honestly, they bored me, so I skipped ahead to the core philosophical arguments found throughout the WWW. I'll admit that I've engaged in plenty of pseudo-intellectual and mystical endeavors throughout my life, to my own folly, and I grudgingly concede that the core tenants of Objectivism are superior to every other school of thought I've encountered. Though now-a-days it's less of a grudge and more of a "hot diggity dog" attitude. I think the whole movement suffers for problems that will ensure its relegation to obscurity for a long time. I am optimistic that it can eventually (perhaps not in my life time) step up as a major influencial intellectual movement in society. It seems that certain Objectivists have a penchant for moralizing, so I fully expect to encounter some folks like that here.
