Picture of aborted fetus Does this persuade anyone that abortion should be outlawed? Personally, I have not given much thought to the topic, but seeing those pictures sure made me think. I guess you guys are going to say that just because it looks human doesn't mean that it is and should have rights. A picture may not be an argument but it sure is shocking! It was not a pleasant sight, and it has done nothing to sway my opinion regarding abortion. If anything, it is another concrete example of the concrete-bound mentality. Sounds more like you had a gut reaction (a feeling) and didn't bother to sit down and do any real thinking whatsoever, since you posted these two contradictory statements with only a tiny paragraph to separate them and hide the discrepancy. Would foul and vicious pornography "persuade" you that free speech should be outlawed? Declaring something like this is along the lines of saying that you'll follow a principle and support an ideal only as long as it doesn't offend your delicate sensibilities. That picture of the ~3 inch long foetus lying on the guy's fingers is amazing - to think something like that eventually turns into an adult human blows my mind. It might as well be legal. This is really unsound reasoning for determining the legality of something. There is a more sound philosophical reasoning for the legality of abortion to be found in this thread.
