His message - Capitalism will lead to destruction and to avert that requires “rational social planning”. I know this is nothing new per se, but I guess changing the name from Socialism is a means to disassociating that theory with it’s historical consequences and is a brazen attempt to pull the wool over people’s eyes. Looking at the majority of the comments, both on digg and youtube, it appears some people are buying it hook, line and sinker.
I actually don’t think Chomsky is trying to dissociate it from socialism, as he is openly socialistic. He calls himself a “libertarian socialist.”

“Libertarian Socialist” is an oxymoron in every sense of the definition. It’s like saying someone is an obese anorexic.
What really made me froth at the mouth was seeing Chavez thumping Chomsky’s blasphemy in front of the world, calling us demons. How much does it cost to assassinate a wannabe third-world commie dictator? I’ll foot the bill personally, or donate what I can.

He calls “individual GAIN” “personal VICE”!!!
His talk of “solidarity” smacks of ANTHEM.
Notice when he speaks of “democracy and freedom” democracy always comes first, because(to him) the people’s vote is what gives us freedom, is what gives us our rights.
