Agreed. Ryan talks a good game from time to time, but he’s a neo-conservative up-and-comer. If you’ve read Brad Thompson’s Neo-Conservatism: An Obituary for an Idea you’ll understand why that’s bad news.

True, he has some real faults..but he has far better views than many/most conservative politicians.

Substantiate this? His social conservatism is off the charts. He supports mixed economics. He is simply talking a big game because the Republican flavor of the month is some kind of libertarian-Sarah Palin hybrid.

How many conservative congressman do you know of who want privatize social security? Honestly, I don’t know much about him or his positions. The issues that I’ve heard him speak on I’ve agreed with him (ex. privatization, as demonstrated in the above video).
