Hello to all

Hello everyone! I have recently become an avid student of Objectivism, having been introduced to the ideas of Ayn Rand through her fiction. A good friend recommended that I read Anthem, and, having done so, I proceeded to devour The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged as well. The philosophical concepts resonated with me, and validated much of what I had concluded through my own efforts. I am working through Introduction to Objectivist Epistomology and Objectivism: The Philosophy of Ayn Rand.

So, I am still a novice Objectivist, but eager to learn from those more experienced than myself.

I have travelled a long route to reach this point, a route filled with philosophical dead-ends, and pseudo-mystic mumbo-jumbo; to wit: Wicca, Rosicrucianism, The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, Ordo Templi Orientis, comparative religious studies, Jung, and general occultism.

Having wasted years in pursuit of mysteries and hidden knowledge, I came to a firm conclusion: it was all a waste of valuble time.

I look forward to interacting here to our mutual benifit.

Welcome to the forum.

Welcome.

At the risk of hijacking, I’ve known a few Wiccans but never been one myself. It has been my observation that all of them converted (they weren’t raised as Wiccans) and it seems to me they did so as a way of rebelling against their overly-harsh religious uprbrining. (If true, IMHO they didn’t carry their rebellion far enough.) Does this match your experience (which is no doubt more extensive)?

Welcome to the forum, Maximus! I look forward to your participation in the discussion threads.
