Think so? To me it’s a ludicrous pastiche of Classic Revival, with a nod to the swagger of Rameses II or Ming the Merciless. This commie ziggurat with its endless rows of columns and pilasters gives me the creeps.
It’s just so ridiculously over the top that I cant help but love it. It looks like something out of a fantasy novel - I definitely wouldnt want it in my city but yeah, its awesome

And at least it has wheelchair access ramps to comply with today’s standards. 
I agree, that building looks ridiculous. What was it, and who designed it?
Actually all the designs would probably not be up to code now given that they are not ADA compatible in that the statuary are not obviously enabled for people with poor vision to appreciate their “beauty” in addition to the afformentioned wheelchair accesible ramps.
