Yet another fascinating video from CNN.
Considering the Democrats’ declared platform (“For the Children!”), I assume the rationale behind such a ban would be to protect the welfare of the children of smokers. My question is this: who is protecting the welfare of this child? Specifically, who is going to stop this kid’s parents from exposing him to such unhealthy political philosophies? I think the connection between death and second-hand smoke is a bit less substantial than, say, the connection between death and tyranny.
I want to say that I don’t think such a bill will go anywhere, but I’m not sure I believe that.
