Type in msconfig and click OK. Go to the Startup tab and uncheck everything that you aren't sure about -- uncheck anything that doesn't have the name of a specific product you know you own, such as Norton Antivirus or Symantec, etc. If you're not sure about some, either uncheck them anyway, or post the name of the program (as shown in the leftmost column) on here and I will tell you if it's alright to uncheck it. If you uncheck too much, it's not going to break anything or do any permanent damage. Then restart your computer.
