I am writing an essay for an immigration class on the rise of pluralism in the field of immigration history. I use pluralism in the sense of history being shaped by the actions or characteristics of groups rather than by individuals. Pluralism is the dominate school of history now and emphasizes the group and especially the alleged hegemony of society as against the agency of the individual. Thanks for any suggestions.
