Many pop-sci books, in an attempt to be understood by the general public, can be misleading. However, there is one exception: Lenny Susskind’s Theoretical Minimum. With just a few dim memories of basic calculus, you get ‘the real deal’ from Quantum Mechanics to General Relativity, understandable by the general public with just a bit of effort to do some math.
A hidden gem. Plus, it’s modern in its outlook, using Lagrangians, etc., that allow for elegant presentation.
