US Somali air strikes ‘kill many’

Let’s hope we got some important bad guys. With this administration, one never knows.
Good. We should kill these guys whenever and whereever we can locate them.
I think it would be wise for the administration to announce publicly the purpose and results of such strikes, rather than let them be reported by the BBC as if they were supposed to be a secret. We should be advertising our willingness and intent to kill terrorists wherever they happen to be. This is not to say I don’t approve of strikes like this, but Bush could do a better job of marketing them. On second thought, I guess that would presuppose a certain level of moral certitude. The hesitant “War” on terror continues.
I admire the swift response to Al Qaeda’s calling on their forces in Somalia to engage Ethiopian troops.
According to the Washington Post, the Chief of Staff for the Prime Minister of Somalia said:
We gave permission for actions that are more than airstrikes. Whatever it means to rout these people out, we have given (the Bush Administration) permission.
We’re conducting military operations in Somalia? Man, not having internet and TV for 2 weeks really threw me out of the loop.

I think the idea would be to do this sort of thing after the fact so that it’s very clear who is being targeted and why. Sort of like, screw with us and you might just wake up kissing a cruise missile.
