I find the nutritional field very subjective, I was under the opinion that science is part measurement
a specific thing in a specific time for specific reaction. I haven't found to date any specifics that say if you ate so many grams of apples or oranges or spinach or white meat or red meat how many cigarettes or cigars how many alcoholic drinks will cause this that or the other thing.

A very good book on theory of how language has evolved is "The unfolding of language" by Guy Duescher. Sorry if I mispelled that name as I have let a friend borrow it and can not check the spelling for myself. The book goes into etymology and the structures of many differing languages and how they are interelated, but it also has a lot of theories about how certain words and languages do arise. For example, by simply witnessing the fact that the word "gonna" has arisen to mean the future indicative "will" as in: "I am gonna party"/"I will party". It arises out of the contraction "going to", but in the process of being used in the sense of "I am going to party" it loses its ability to simply replace the phrase "going to" as seen in the inability to us it in the sentence: "I am gonna New York."
He then theorizes that all word construction is a process of such contraction and reduction. Just like concept formation, two or more concretes are integrated. (This is a very basic overview of the book's points. I recomend you read the book because it goes into much greater detail and also has examples from a much wider number of languages and instances.

I like that. It looks like the inside of Kant's brain. Actually, I was refering to the 5 part trilogy of 6 books. The movie was a horrid bastardization of the books. I really messed it up. Took some of the good points and twisted it. Kind of like watching Atlas Shrugged and it turns out to be a movie about a train conductor and a goat that gets killed.
I'm dyslexic as well. I have to give a great deal of concious thought when I type or I really miss things. The most used key on my keyboard is the backspace key. That and "PREVIEW POST" is your friend.
I was diagnosed with dyslexia when I was about 25 years old, I am over 40 now and for most of my life my profession is very physical hard labor. There was no need for me to have to concern myself with my academic skills. But thanks to the Internet and my interest of it, it made me desire to want to communicate more with people. That is when I recognize that my dyslexia was getting in the way. But i was determined and I am determined not to allow it to hinder my yearning to learn and grow and communicate at a higher level with people.

Re: Spelling. Tophat, Once the software creates the text, I suggest you use some spell-check software to run through it. This post (link) will tell you how to integrate spell-check into Internet-Explorer or FireFox.
Re: Wales: As far as I know, Jimmy "Jimbo" Wales (who did not create the Wiki, but used Wiki to create Wikipedia) is a self-proclaimed Objectivist who used to post on a few of the older Objectivism newsgroups. He also ran a "glamour photograph" site at some point in his life. From what I remember (from my younger days
) he was more of the anarchist/libertarian persuasion rather than an Objectivist; but, my memory could be wrong. For more info on him, see the Wikipedia itself.Thank you i will download it ASAP

I've read the Register for years. The journalistic qualities of it rate right up there with supermarket tabloids. They are very center of left and tend to print first, think later. It's like getting news from TheOnion.com. Make sure to read with a very large grain of salt. But yes, they are trying to smear Rand and Objecitivsm by making him look bad. Porn and Wall Street and rich to top it all: he must be evil. Esquire did an article on him and posted it on wikipedia and it was pretty quickly edited with only 1 factual error making it through after it got wikified.
But yes, he did make a fortune on Wall Street and then parlayed that with a very early investment on selling porn over the internet. He did it by using a porn specific search engine and various "rings" (like the webrings you see on sites for people of a similar interest), along with the Bomis Babes. He then started wikipedia and focused on truth and not opinion. Though that is in theory since there are some problems with it. Basically he wanted to do somthing akin to the Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy. You have an infinte number of contributions and eventually you'll chronicle everything. The number of editors/contributors will end up having a smoothing effect on the data contained thereing.

Ahh, if it's a software issue I'll let the other mods know so that you don't get in trouble for it.Thank you very much the software needs to be trained to my voice, I just installed it a couple days ago.
The more I use it the more the accuracy will be. As far as the grammar that has to do is my broken English. And a lack of me, during my homework properly when I was in school. I cut to many classes when I was young.

Please forgive my spelling and grammar errors I have a mild case of dyslexia, I use a voice to texted
software to try to help compensate sometimes the software works incorrectly but most of time at work pretty good up . If I am trying to compose too fast I can overlook my spelling and grammar.
I do appreciate your recommendations and will try to slow down.

And when started to read it I saw this Wales made his fortune in bond trading before setting up the Bomis pornography ring. It's this strange? the way they make Ayn too look dirty or am I missing something. I have read that Ayn Rand didn't like pornography but didn't say that much about it. I agree with the statement about grant federal funds.
But I think to a out side linking the words like bond trading =Junk bonds, pornography ring as = to ring leader, devotee of Ayn Rand, as if Ayn rand approved or all this guys actions.

Anthem's it was the first book I read from Ayn Rand,
I think that this book should be the premise Eq72521 of all of Ayn Rand's work.
It reads like a looking Glass of things to come, and also reminder of things in the past.
The freedom of man's spirit being crushed by the collectivist, state. The book calls out
to me to never surrendered to collectivism, kind of like the Borg in Star Trek trying to asimulate
those of free minds to the collective. Its been three years since I've read the book which started a chain reaction causing me to read all most every book that Ayn Rand wrote.

It was very hard to accept where the world has been, and where is going. But the truth had to be known
it is good to know that there is others out there working around the globe to spread the ideas of Ayn Rand
that started over 50 years ago, we are in a world being dominated by irrational collective ideas over reason everywhere I go in all actions in my life I share the ideas, and principles. With others I believe I will continue to do this into the day I die, or become assimilated into the Borg collective statism through force.
I believe a person has the right to their work their skills and should not be forced to have to contribute to a collectivist state.

Um, since logic is the "Art of non-contradictory identification", and fallacies are examples of improper use of logic (i.e. NOT non-contradictory identification, or CONTRADICTORY identification) then ALL fallacies must ultimately fail the test of non-contradiction, of A is A. So, I agree that this discussion is rather pointless.
I would like to say for those that have been around along time this thread would seam pointless.
But for me beening new to Opar/Rand it is very helpfull to learn from the posts. I see in action /real time,
now contradictory identification works.

Probably because we just leave Taiwan out to dry. Even so, I have some pretty serious doubts about whether Taiwan could do much against China. I mean, yeah, Israel is tiny and has won wars against the whole Arab world, but the Arab world is completely non-developed. China is actually a modern country.
I was reading over at DEBKAfile’s that Russian sources indicate that China’s indigenous shipbuilding industry is advancing towards the building of units geared towards a near-term Taiwan invasion.

Israel readies forces for strike on nuclear Iran

ISRAEL’S armed forces have been ordered by Ariel Sharon, the prime minister, to be ready by the end of March for possible strikes on secret uranium enrichment sites in Iran, military sources have revealed. The order came after Israeli intelligence warned the government that Iran was operating enrichment facilities, believed to be small and concealed in civilian locations.
Iran’s stand-off with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) over nuclear inspections and aggressive rhetoric from Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Iranian president, who said last week that Israel should be moved to Europe, are causing mounting concern.
The crisis is set to come to a head in early March, when Mohamed El-Baradei, the head of the IAEA, will present his next report on Iran. El-Baradei, who received the Nobel peace prize yesterday, warned that the world was “losing patience” with Iran.
A senior White House source said the threat of a nuclear Iran was moving to the top of the international agenda and the issue now was: “What next?” That question would have to be answered in the next few months, he said.
Defence sources in Israel believe the end of March to be the “point of no return” after which Iran will have the technical expertise to enrich uranium in sufficient quantities to build a nuclear warhead in two to four years.
“Israel — and not only Israel — cannot accept a nuclear Iran,” Sharon warned recently. “We have the ability to deal with this and we’re making all the necessary preparations to be ready for such a situation.”
The order to prepare for a possible attack went through the Israeli defence ministry to the chief of staff. Sources inside special forces command confirmed that “G” readiness — the highest stage — for an operation was announced last week.
Gholamreza Aghazadeah, head of the Atomic Organisation of Iran, warned yesterday that his country would produce nuclear fuel. “There is no doubt that we have to carry out uranium enrichment,” he said.
He promised it would not be done during forthcoming talks with European negotiators. But although Iran insists it wants only nuclear energy, Israeli intelligence has concluded it is deceiving the world and has no intention of giving up what it believes is its right to develop nuclear weapons.
A “massive” Israeli intelligence operation has been underway since Iran was designated the “top priority for 2005”, according to security sources.
Cross-border operations and signal intelligence from a base established by the Israelis in northern Iraq are said to have identified a number of Iranian uranium enrichment sites unknown to the the IAEA.
Since Israel destroyed the Osirak nuclear reactor in Iraq in 1981, “it has been understood that the lesson is, don’t have one site, have 50 sites”, a White House source said.
If a military operation is approved, Israel will use air and ground forces against several nuclear targets in the hope of stalling Tehran’s nuclear programme for years, according to Israeli military sources.
It is believed Israel would call on its top special forces brigade, Unit 262 — the equivalent of the SAS — and the F-15I strategic 69 Squadron, which can strike Iran and return to Israel without refuelling.

It was worse than that -the map denied the existence of Israel as such. The offense is not the map itself (which was made in 1948, one year after Israel was formed by the UN) but that its presense at the ceremony all but sanctions the PLO's wish to wipe out Israel.

There are some researchers trying to determine how initial languages developed, and there are a few linguists on the forum. Generally, though, languages tend to change over time, which is why we're not all speaking ancient Sumerian.
English is an Indo-European language . . . in the Germanic branch. Don't quote me, I have no idea if I got that terminology right, though.

And that the image of a dog we see will be a dog. we went from a grunt and pointing to a object , to just saying the word or seeing the image and accept the word for fact. what person/s started thinking that man needed words in his world and put togather

Thousands of people are being evacuated from the surrounding towns and suburbs outside, which is engulfed in flames and black smoke. An industrial state was badly damaged, windows blown out miles away. Nearby Hemel Hempstead, St. Albans and Leverstock Green are under a dense cloud of polluted smoke which poses a major environmental threat. The shocks of the blasts were felt across SE England. Police are trying to stop panic buying of petrol. The M1 intercity highway is closed until further notice.
The Hertfordshire police rule out external causes although many witnesses report an aircraft in the area at the time of the blasts. Defense minister John Reid said cagily: The police still believe the disaster was accidental but do not exclude alternatives. No investigation can be held until the big oil depot cools enough for access. This will take days if not weeks. Main fuel installations of this size are routinely equipped with systems for shutting down sections to curb the spread of fire or blasts. The magnitude of the explosions that engulfed the entire installation indicate an unusual catastrophe of some kind. Witnesses reported heavy rumbles before the explosion, much as though an aircraft had crashed into the oil installations.
