  1. That was my first thought when I heard it yesterday. Now what's he going to do while he's in jail? I guess he can always watch cable TV or get a degree.
  2. What happened to her sisters, Intellectualammo?
  3. Bottom line is this...you know you're going to be asked straight forward questions in the interview portion of a pageant and if she won Miss. South Carolina, she should have plenty of experience in the interview portion of pageants. (You don't just win a state pageant in the Southern US without working your way up.) She answered the way she did because she is either (1) a complete idiot like the 1/5 of Americans who can't find the US on a map or (2) she got a sudden moment of stage fright, drew a total blank about what she was supposed to be doing and couldn't remember the question she was answering. I was in a few pageants and musicals when I was a preteen and early teenager and I can tell you that the latter happens to the best and brightest of us; however, I can also tell you from experience, that many of the girls/women in these pageants are complete idiots. My mom and I had fun with it, but many moms and daughters were completely stupid or psycho about it.
  4. I hope it works. I think it sounds like a good idea too, OT. Good luck!
  5. Ugh. It just gets worse and worse. My husband spoke with a woman today who works for the Denver DA's office and she said the news hasn't even reported the worst of it. One of the things she mentioned was that the authorities found rape cages in which female dogs were placed with their hind legs tied up so that males could have sex with them whether the females were ready or not. This just further illustrates the psychotic nature of these moronic dog fighters. A female dog will allow a male to have sex with her when she is most fertile, so these idiots probably weren't even increasing the female's odds of getting pregnant. (They probably just enjoyed watching the rape.)
  6. 1.) Yes, many fighting dogs do have mental/behavioral issues as a result of being inbred. It's one of the reasons they're inbred. 2.) YOU asked, "What would you consider a maximized potential for a dog in regards to assisting mankind?" I was answering YOUR question. 3.) It makes no, good common sense to take a perfectly good, working, companion animal and turn it into a killer to satisfy some psycho idiot's need for gore and easy money. You can't make me agree with you. Period. Jeez, I feel like I'm arguing w/ my soon-to-be-ex-husband. He likes to run me in circles like this.
  7. I'm not sure where your experience comes from, but I am from Houston, Texas where dog fighting among illegal immigrants and the city's poor is quite a big problem. I don't need for you to tell me that the dogs are bred to attack each other and not people...I've seen otherwise. Why do you think the dogs must be euthanized once confiscated? They are abused and psychotic animals and are not trusting of any other living creature; therefore, they are not stable or trustworthy around any other living creatures. And the ones that are, are usually killed by their owners for poor fight performance. As far as your information on the inbreeding of dogs, I again refer you to the AKC website where you can learn more about selective breeding. Yes, some dogs are inbred and have been inbred in the past (that's why pure bred dogs tend to have more health issues than muts.) But educated, reputable breeders do not inbreed dogs any longer. Dog fighters specifically inbreed dogs to make them crazy, mean and strong. They are unscrupulous and irresponsible. (I can't believe I'm having to clarify this for you??) Dog fighters could care less if the dogs are docile to humans are not. They just want to breed a killing machine so they can get their thrills and win some money. While I agree with you that there are many myths about pit bills, the simple fact is, as long as the blood line is being corrupted with this inbreeding for fighting purposes, the psycho dogs are out there. I've seen responsible, normal dog owners crying on TV because their normally docile pit bull lashed out suddenly and killed a neighbor's kid. Where do you think that corruption comes from? That's not normal, natural dog behavior. I'd also like to point out that small dogs are responsible for the vast majority of dog bite cases; however, they usually cause small hand, foot or facial injuries as opposed to pit bulls which can easily maul an entire human body thus causing death. Bottom line is, these dog fighters are ruining a perfectly good breed and that's a simple fact.
  8. Not to mention what the fans might do to him. Fans love to throw things. (Some flaming dog poo to his face would be nice!)
  9. I just thought of another really sad aspect of all of this dog fighting mess. Around 1900, the pit bull was the most popular dog breed in America. It was known as a hard-working farm dog and beloved family pet, especially good with children. Now, thanks to these psychos who prefer to inbreed and fight the dogs, we have children and adults being eaten alive by them and whole cities and counties banning them. Thanks to dog fighters we now have legislation that keeps us from owning what was once America's most beloved family pet.
  10. All you have to do is read up on it...here's a starting point I found quickly since I'm at work. I'm sure with a little effort, you can easily find more. http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=gmai...tal%20disorders
  11. 1.) A horse may not naturally bear a rider in the wild, but it is capable of it just like an ox is capable of pulling a plow. And I have no problem with selective breeding to encourage these traits; however, breeding an animal with the sole intent of making it insane, and therefore, crazy enough to fight to the death which it otherwise would not do, is a totally different subject. If you can't see that, there is nothing more I can say to you. 2.) Dogs can be utilized in many ways, hunting companions, herding, guard dogs, etc. (If you care to research the matter further, I refer you to the AKC website which has full descriptions of all the recognized, and many unrecognized, breeds and their functions in society.) Personally, I could do without the useless toy breeds, such as the one you mentioned in the hand bag, and I would not carry my dog in such a manner even if she would fit into a hand bag. I find no use for them at all and they are annoying little barkers who frequently keep me up at night or interrupt an otherwise relaxing walk around my block. 3.) Dogs can be entertaining and used to make money without abusing them mentally and physically and without killing them. I think anyone who enjoys watching another living creature suffer, particularly to the death, has a serious mental problem. And if that's the only constructive way you can find to enjoy life and/or make money, I think you have a horrible life. (In fact, enjoying watching animals suffer, dissecting them and/or killing them are one of the traits of serial killers.) I agree. And just as an aside, after he gave the finger to his home crowd while leaving the field last season, I don't think any of them will be missing him if he's banned permanently, which he should be.
  12. Well obviously pests pose a threat to food supplies and health, so they should be eliminated when they invade our living spaces. It's just practical. The problem I have with dog fighting is that dogs do not naturally fight to the death. Dogs in the wild rarely die from fighting and when they do it's usually from infection rather than the actual fight. I think it's stupid to use animals in a manner that does not maximize their potential to assist mankind. Perhaps that's just my opinion, but it's far more intelligent than inbreeding dogs, forcing them to exercises all day long, then forcing them to attempt to kill each other in the ring for some psycho's pleasure. Then, when they don't perform well, they are methodically killed in inhumane ways. I would have more respect for the guy if he would have at least euthanized them instead of killing them in the sick, twisted ways that he did. This guy is obviously trash.
  13. As much as I detest what Michael Vick did, I'll have to agree with you on everything except the hunting. Personally, I could never kill an animal (although I love to eat and wear them!) However, I certainly understand the appeal of hunting, to a certain extent. Not that long ago, my grandfather helped his father hunt in order to feed their family. As times changed and he did not NEED to hunt for food, my grandfather enjoyed hunting with his children and their children as a way to spend quality time together. He would educate them about guns and gun safety, they would observe a variety of wildlife and how they behave, spend the night out in cabins or tents, etc. I don't know that they ever hunted for any kind of glory as there were never any trophies hanging on the walls, but I know they would have the meat processed and it would be eaten. And they never killed anything that they didn't eat. Frankly, I don't see what difference it makes if you buy your meat at the grocery store, or if you prefer to go out and kill it yourself. Personally, I just can't stomach the killing and processing part. Now I know there are some crazy hunters out there who are in it for the kill, but those are the same psychos that like dog fighting, and as you suggest, probably have a mental disorder. Reminds me of something funny I saw last night from comedian Jim Gaffigan: Animal Rights Activist: Do you know what they do to those chickens? Gaffigan: No, but it's delicious!
  14. I find chimps endlessly entertaining, much less when they are dressed like humans and acting like a bunch of morons in a bar. You need to lighten up!
  15. I like this one too. It's older, but I just remembered it as a result of a chat conversation last night.
  16. I had to go to diversity training for a company I once worked for. It was utterly ridiculous, but at least I know exactly what I'm dealing with out there. (I was basically told that since I'm a white American, I am the standard and it's my responsibility to not offend anyone else regarding their cultures or customs. But they can crap all over mine I suppose, sine I'm the standard? I guess I don't get offended when someone attacks my culture or customs? Nonsense!) It will probably make blood shoot out your eyes, but you might get a laugh or two as well. If nothing else, it's a free meal, right?
  17. Was that Beavis and Butthead in the video?
  18. High school sucks, or it did for me anyway. Just hang in there, it will be over before you know it and you will move on to much better things.
  19. I'm not sure how good it is, but monster.com has some free resume resources. I find it helpful to fill out their online resume, then print it to help create my Word resume. Found this when I did a google search...again, not sure how good it is... http://www.resume-help.org/
  20. He's very pretty and looks very soft. No wonder he was so irresistable!
  21. Well I'm just glad that Christopher Lloyed has already invented the Flux Capacitor...at least that tricky little part of time travel is already out of the way.
  22. Actually, I've already made clear my personal preference on this issue... Oh, I missed that. My apologies!
  23. Awww, very sweet post about the "speed of light" vs the speed of your heart. :-)
  24. I think my brain just exploded. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/main.jhtm...scispeed116.xml Good grief! If this is really possible, what next?
