This is how I determine what movies are worthy of renting. Usually, though, I skim pieces of reviews on rottentomatoes.com, because if the movie actually ends up worth seeing, I don't like to spoil any part of the experience with lengthy clips or reviews. I actually did end up seeing this movie. I did not like it. There were a few genuine laugh-out-loud moments, but the overarching theme of "Life is generally going to be bad, so just kind of accept it" made for a pretty downer experience.
