Camp Obama -- the Obama Youth

When readers first alerted us to the camps, we thought it might be another hoax that migrated into inboxes. But it’s for real.

The unsolicited pitch goes like this: “Camp Obama attendees will receive real world organizing experience that will have a direct impact on this election. Graduates of Camp Obama will go on to become Deputy Field Organizers who will lead this campaign to victory in crucial battleground states around the country.”

The letter continues, “By participating in Camp Obama you’ll get the kind of experience that Barack got as a community organizer on the South Side of Chicago, where he learned that real change happens from the bottom up.”

The name “Hitler Jügend” comes to mind.

I decided to play around in Photoshop:

It’s not very impressive. My bet is that the only people this program will appeal to are impoverished black kids. There isn’t going to be much membership outside of that demographic and the enthusiasm for the program will die off about two years into Obama’s presidency.

the enthusiasm for the program will die off about two years into Obama’s presidency.

I find it interesting that you just assume Obama will become President. The media does that too. I wonder if that’s how you really elect someone. Just keep asserting he’s elected until it actually happens. It’s almost a form of psychological conditioning.

I find it interesting that you just assume Obama will become President.

Well, then maybe I should of put an “if” in there somewhere. I’m refering to the Youth Programs and volunteer stuff Obama wants to put into practice if got elected. The only way these programs will get intiated is if he gets elected, which is where the assumption comes from. And if these “get Obama elected” programs serve as a precursor to those programs – it’s not very impressive at all. Not very threatening.

Like I said, these types of programs lose steam really quick. Politicians like to trump them up and make them appear like they are greater then they are. I don’t pay much attention to them.

Now if the video showed thousands of young kids from all sorts of backrounds like the ones with Hitler Youth that everyone keeps drawing comparisons too, then I might be worried.

I admit the video wasn’t impressive - a dozen inner-city kids looking like they lack the initiative and comprehension to pass a math test? I won’t call up the guard just yet.

Myself - this is something I too wonder. If something is repeated enough by the media, on the internet, in the papers and on the TV, is it more likely to come true, or at least be accepted as a foregone conclusion? It has certainly worked with the financial crisis being the fault of ‘greedy’ bankers, or with global warming.

I’m more concerned about what these kinds of people will do if Obama is defeated. I know Obama has said that if he doesn’t win this election he won’t seek the Presidency again, though he is by all means a liar and a flip flopper. If he does lose, and states that he will run again in 4 years, the membership of Obama Jügend might soar throughout the 4 years of the McCain administration.

In any case, I expect massive rioting if he is defeated next month.

I’d be more worried about rioting if he does loose…

JMartins - I think at most, we’ll see something similar to the hubbub following Al Gore’s defeat by Bush, if that happened. There’ll be more slander, anger and endless parading of the issue, with all sorts of nutcases coming out of the woodworks to prove how the political system was rigged and blah blah blah. There shall be no riots; the only tears would be of bleeding heart liberals seeing their Hero of the People defeated - no tear gas needed.

Tenure, you are forgetting something. In addition to that, there would be people demanding that America soul-search itself for racism. Clearly the only reason Obama could lose is those damned intolerant racist rednecks. (/sarcasm)

This is actually a big reason Obama won’t win.

I’m well stocked on ammo…

Yea okay, whatever. Racism is this country is negligible at best. “They” might use this as a reason why he didn’t win, but it will not be the real reason, i.e., the statistical statist coin flip between the two landed McCain’s up.

It’s very troubling when a candidate running for President of the United States of America is anti-American. It’s not a trivial issue.

He’s friends with Bill Ayers.

This is the essence of who Ayers is: http://www.chicagomag.com/Chicago-Magazine…001/No-Regrets/

He’s friends with Father Fleuger.

He’s friends with Reverend Wright.

All three are virulent anti-Americans and have said as much. He was hired by Ayers and launched his political career from Ayers’ house. He financed both Wright and Fleuger. He sent his wife and kids to a church where Wright preached. He’s very close with Wright. This is far more than an association, it’s a love fest.

The msm is so biased now that they are overtly campaigning for the destruction of America.

Keep in mind that postmodernism endorses racism. One of the commonly put forth views by postmodernists is that everyone is racist, we can’t help it. They tell us it’s naïve to be color blind. And certainly the charge of racism is made continually by the media. So, racism is very much out there not too far beneath the surface.

Case in point, The AP accuses Palin of racism where there isn’t any: http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D9…;show_article=1

excerpt from first few lines:

Analysis: Palin’s words carry racial tinge

Oct 5 10:43 AM US/Eastern

By DOUGLASS K. DANIEL

WASHINGTON (AP) - By claiming that Democrat Barack Obama is “palling around with terrorists” and doesn’t see the U.S. like other Americans, vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin targeted key goals for a faltering campaign.

And though she may have scored a political hit each time, her attack was unsubstantiated and carried a racially tinged subtext that John McCain himself may come to regret.

I submit that they are using this charge because they want to smear Palin, rather than deal with the substance of her claim.

I submit that, being racists at thier core, as evidenced by thier endorsement of social welfare programs, they assume that everyone one else is as well.

It’s very troubling when a candidate running for President of the United States of America is anti-American. It’s not a trivial issue.

I believed that this was basically true last time around as well, and I disagreed with Peikoff for that reason. Anyone who would get up in front of Congress and tell them that everyone in our military in Vietnam had committed war crimes fit the bill in my opinion. At the very least Kerry would not be inclined to agressively defend the US.

Now, of course the cycle repeats–things get worse, repeat.

Yea okay, whatever. Racism is this country is negligible at best.

Perhaps you say this because people in Michigan have more brains then a lot of the rest of the country, or it’s because you’ve been drowning out the dialogue. Ever heard of the South, or the Internet?

When I ask people here whats the main reason for not voting for Obama the answer I get is

“Because if you get a black into the house, then it’s going to be all about dem blacks. They will steal everything not nailed down!”

And I hear that echoed all the way to the oceans. Racist rednecks elected the Republican party and they will continue to do so.

I’ve never heard that, not even remotely. I see racism on the Internet, on things like Youtube comments and from all races, but the Internet is world wide.

And I hear that echoed all the way to the oceans. Racist rednecks elected the Republican party and they will continue to do so.

Well, traditionally the big racists were democrats. But, I really question your assertion. I mean, perhaps you’re happy to smear people, but people who vote republican usually do so 1> because they believe in lower taxes and less government and 2> because they are religious and have that sort of agenda. Race simply isn’t a part of the platform. However, with democrats race, gender and all manner of groupism are a big part of their identity.

Just to clarify, yes, I understand that republicans have not delivered on number 1, but they do make that promise.

Yes, Kerry was definitely anti-American, and maybe no better than Obama.
