I got an email saying I had a new PM on oo.net from ‘abigail.’ Abigail does not (or at least no longer) exists as a user on the forum. When I first logged into the forum I got a repeat of an older PM. When I checked my inbox, initially it said there were two PM’s then later said one even when I hadn’t deleted anything.
Is this a problem with the forum, or was there really an Abigail spamming people and taking their email addresses from our profiles? Or some other issue?

When did you get the notification email? This happened once a number of months ago when I deleted a bunch of spam PM’s.
You can’t get an email address from your profile btw.
The email is dated “Sat, 30 Jun 2007 06:11:30 +0950”

Yes,
There a member “abigail” was sending out PMs in bulk asking people to become Buddhists or something like that. Someone told me about it last night and I removed the ones he/she/it had already sent out. Meanwhile, the notification emails that go out when PMs are received would have gone out anyway.
