They're a weird mob!

Interesting pro-US presentation at the APEC meeting in Sydney - Aussies 4 ANZUS.

They list Miss Rand as one of their inspirations, quote the closing remarks of the West Point speech, and link to the ARI. They’re not a particularly sophisticated mob, but what’s pleasing is that Miss Rand’s influence is definitely spreading.

It is delightful to see Ayn Rand’s influence spreading overseas. However, this appears to be a group that will stupidly (and inaccurately) conflate the ideas of Ayn Rand with those of the Neoconservative movement. Someone needs to send them a few issues of The Objective Standard!

They emulate Dick Cheney, list Bush, Lincoln, Roosevelt, Truman and Wilson as some of the greatest Presidents and support the NeoCon war of suicide in Iraq. This is an organization that must be denounced anytime someone may ask you about them and their connections with Objectivism.

I think your are correct in that this group should be condemned as Neoconservatives. Although they claim to value Ayn Rand, they clearly do not have a firm grasp of Objectivism.

I do not think that Abraham Lincoln is a bad President to list. And yes, I am aware of many of the things that Libertarians despise President Lincoln for, such as the Legal Tender Act of 1862 or the National Bank Act of 1863. President Truman also seems decent. Listing Ronald Reagan as the best President seems pretty silly to me. I am surprised that you did not mention JFK.

Well , we , with a little help from like minded individuals , decided to take Aussies 4 ANZUS to task and set up an opposition site : Australians For ANZUS. Comments are most welcome .

P.S. Aussies 4 ANZUS were not presenting at APEC , they were protesting , like the rest of them .

I typically do go by the " Libertarian " view of Lincoln.

If Reagan should not be listed in the top spot or at least in the top 3, who should?

I neglected to mention JFK, this is true. But he’s just so damn GOOD LOOKING
