Ifat Glassman
Yesterday I made a post to a thread, and it got deleted (it can now be found in the trash can). I got no notification for it, nothing. Just accidentally found out about it by seeing it in the trash can today. Is this according to OO policy? According to my experience so far, it is not. DavidOdden
Is this according to OO policy? We tend not to make a big deal of when a person makes a post that needs to be deleted, but if the problem is serious enough we may issue a warning. It just depends on how inappropriate the post is.
Inspector
Her main issue does not seem to be that the post was deleted, but rather that she was not informed in any way that it was deleted.
dan_edge
Ifat, I'm guessing it was the "BS" remarks that got your post tossed in the trash. --Dan Edge

Inspector
What is the policy on informing a member when their post is deleted?
DavidOdden
From the forum rules: "The moderators reserve the right to modify or delete any material that violates any of these rules, or for any other reason that they deem appropriate. They also reserve the right to ban any user if they are in violation of the board's rules, although warnings will generally be given first (especially concerning the more innocent mistakes). Egregious violations of rules may result in a banning without warning." As I say, warning levels are not always raised when a person posts inappropriately. I think this point has been talked to death.
DavidV
What is the policy on informing a member when their post is deleted? That's up to the moderator's judgment. Moderators will generally notify users if they are ignorant of a rule.
