What she was charged with was lieing about her stock broker's insider trading. She can't lie about her own insider trading becuase, by definition, she is not an insider. Martha lied to protect the price of her own stock, which was dumb, if she kept her mouth shut the price would have been back within weeks (because what she was origionally accused of would not have effected her companies actual value). However, in the process she protected her broker from his part of the investigation (again for something which shouldn't be a crime). chapell hartridge was obviously a fool (edit: marxist fool), his victory for the "little guy", lost hundereds of little guys their jobs. not to mention the shareholders in marthas company, surely some of them were "little guys" too.

i was an objectivist in all but name until i was 14... then i was handed a copy of The Fountainhead by a man who never took it seriously enough and was foolish enough to think i wouldn't either. i think he regrets it.

you are wrong joe, peikoff made a bad decision on what he thought was his death bed. if he hadn't thought he was dieing he wouldn't have done it. Sending your kids to the school you were forced to pay for is different from lending support (unnecessary donations, say... of manuscripts) to that school.

as you can guess by my name, this is a big topic for me. Firstly Rush, i got into Rush about when i got into objectivism and just after i started to play guitar. Alex Lifeson's guitar work is fantastic. other rock: Derek and the Dominos Zeppelin Eagles Heart Yes These bands tend to have a decent or better sense of life. but i am a classical music fan primarily The standard list of composers you see in above posts apply here but add lizst and drop williams. williams is not an artist he just pumps out notes that theoretically work well together. some of his work is good most is neutral or worse. as for this movie business: there are plenty of piano peices that could reasonably serve as a Concerto of Deliverance. i am more worried about other aspects (acting, directing, etc...)
