EC
The Detroit Tiger's Justin Verlander deserves his own thread here in the good. He has a nearly un-paralleled fire as a competitor. When he steps on the mound he expects perfection from his pitching. He expects the Tiger's will win when he starts, no excuses. This year Verlander had a 24-5 record, and a 2.40 ERA. He is the Major League Player of the Year. He won this year's AL Cy Young award, and the pitching Triple Crown for lowest ERA, most wins, and most strikeouts. Today he became the first pitcher to win a league MVP since 1992. The individual feats and awards that Verlander achieved this year are worthy of praise for those that love to see what is possible for man when he chooses a purpose for his life and doesn't accept failure. http://www.detnews.c...s-coveted-award http://www.detnews.c...383/1004/SPORTS http://www.detnews.com/article/20111121/SPORTS0104/111210322/1004/SPORTS Edited November 22, 2011 by EC
