The Wrath
Just wondering what your opinions are on Indian reservations. Should we leave them or should they be assimilated into the rest of society? My personal opinion is that this should have been done a long time ago, but I don't know anything about the agreements we have with the various tribes. I don't think we should be breaking agreements with them.
DavidOdden
I don't think we should be breaking agreements with them. That's the crux of the argument for respecting reservations. As far as I know, from the legal POV reservations are properly subordinate to the law of the US, but not of the state within which they are located. That is a good thing, since it confers significant advantages of freedom on the res, regarding what you can sell and do (hence the very profitable fireworks sales and casino business). This is not to say that those freedoms should only be extended to Indians, but it is good that those freedoms are extended to somebody. FeatherFall
There is also talk of some reservations hosting abortion clinics if states ban them. I wouldn't want them to be assimilated into their respective states.

Scott_Connery
I don't mind them as long as all benefits to them are canceled and they respect the rights of their members. That being said, they are mostly mini dictatorships that are propped up by US taxpayer dollars.
Humanist Goddess
It is my understanding (mostly gathered from the writings of Pelletier) that NatAms wish to remain separate from their state laws and American society at large. They want as much autonomy as possible, and the preservation of a separate and isolated culture. If they don't wish to be integrated, that should be respected. Those residents of the reservations who wish to move into the outside American society are granted that freedom, as far as I know.
