  1. I've always been struck by the parallels between H.I.T. and Objectivism. Definitely something going on there.
  2. One of my favorite people, Justin Timberlake, recently got mixed up with a movie ("In Time") that appears to have an anti-capitalist message. I like Timberlake because he normally beams with egoism and benevolence, not to mention talent. I trust that he doesn't mean any harm; unfortunately he just lacks awareness of philosophical issues and therefore doesn't know any better. Is it moral to buy the movie just to see him in it?
  3. On the one hand, we should all want our politicians to strictly uphold the Constitution. On the other hand, what if military action were required to protect Americans agaisnt a lethal threat from abroad, but a bunch of hippie pacifitst in Congress refused to delcare war to neutralize that threat? Would the President be justified in breaching the Constitution in such a scenario?
  4. There a quote from AS that I want to use for a cover letter I'm writing to an employer who is a pro-capitalist ideologue. It's a statement by one of Hank Rearden's employees to Rearden; it's something to the effect of: "it's not me vs. you, but us vs. them." Does anyone know where this quote can be found or exactly what it is? If I can't find it, would be it be inappropriate for me to repeat the sentiment in my own words without crediting the source?
  5. Be more decisive in my actions, vote Obama out of office.
  6. I really admire his commitment to rational economics, but it scares me that his supporters eat up everything he says and package the bad with the good.
  7. He seems to get a lot more support for the flaws in his foreign policy than he does for his advocacy of capitalism and limited government. I'm really on the fence about him.
  8. I'm disturbed by how much support RP gets from the left.
