  1. all I can say is I am happy I donot have PlanetGreen in my channel options, power to the sheeple?
  2. "If I found a job, a project, an idea or a person I wanted -- I'd have to depend on the whole world." D to Alvah Scar. The "rape" was the only situation D could construe at that point, without completely losing her control/soul.
  3. I recycle cans that have deposits and all my pet food cans but I resent having to degrease peanut butter jars and oil bottles with my own soap and hot water (oil fueled) if i toss these are there recycling police i should know about? thanks
  4. I didnt force anything down her throat at all, can you point to where I said this in my posts? -I just asked for a few $ for gas to get to her house and was told no, I never proposed doing the job for her for money. You do not know the whole situation, I have known this person 20 years, and I object to you casting aspersions on my character without said information. Pam
  5. THIS is great advice-I knew I read it here and it was from JMegan-it just took me 1/2 hour of searching to find it! What I have always gone back to (well never left) is wanting to have my own small farm, not to drop out like the essay I posted awhile back, but to have more control over my own life and how I live it. I love the outdoors and gardening and stacking wood and making fires... anyway Thanks! Pam
  6. To be honest I got a definitely strong feeling she didnt want me touching her machine and that she thought this friend of a friend would do a better job, I am extremely capable and experienced in computers especially in hardware-so her lack of faith in my abilities smarted a bit.
  7. GE owned the company that owned Bennigan's? That is like Microsoft owning Applebees/ThankGodIt'sToday/RubyChilis or whatever TF they are called. They all suck. Garbage in Garbage out
  8. http://www.iblogleft.com/?p=179 you can read the rest if you are so inclined at the link above
  9. no it is consistent She asked for my help another time re: her computer and she hovered over me just like this time, and was surprised when I knew to do something she did not think of. (ugh) I could trash her further but I will not, she may be just someone I got used to and these things remind me that ultimately she wastes my time. Thanks Pam
  10. She is very funny, and I do think she cares about me in her own way.
  11. A "friend" of mine asked me to come over to look at her computer last week it wasnt working at all - she inferred she just wanted me to take a quick look and if I could do nothing, disconnect it (she didnt know how to do this she claims) so she could take it to some pt pc tech and pay that person $100. This annoyed the heck out of me. I have alot of experience in hardware, networking and I have MS certifications-I did this work for a living for almost 10 years yet she wouldnt even offer to pay my gas to get to her house (I asked) and she wasnt willing to give me the $100, I could tell she wanted a quick fix to save $. I agreed to go out of "friendship"- I get there and began to run a bunch of diagnostics (which took an hour and 20 min) She ended up getting very impatient and said just disconnect it so I can take it to this friend of a friend-she knew she was pushing it I could tell but DUH i did it and left. now I am just feeling stupid and VERY ANGRY Should I even bother talking to her about it? We have been friends forever and I am still not sure why I bother. PAM
  12. Media Matters has been on the attack over Michael Savage's recent comments on autism. I don't know very much about autism but I thought I would put this up for a comments, I am hoping he doesn't get fired over this one, I do enjoy his show. Quote and a link-Pam Media Matters Article
  13. ok but those 2 things dont go together, have you ever been a stripper? sure men just F you with their eyes instead of the real thing-there is not much difference. you obviously find strippers attractive in some way - that is fine just dont try to give them as much dignity as a woman/man who tries to make a life without resorting to doing that. I admire people who try not to have to do that. Dont you?
  14. breaking rocks, working a crap job, waitressing. would you want to your "stuff" shown to a bunch of drunken patrons? i doubt it-and in this day and age men will make more money stripping for other men. anyway there IS a difference even if people dont want to admit it aka, self um respect Pam
  15. you are still very hung up on her, enough to post here. this whole situation is superfluous-she really doesnt care about you what does this have to do with objectivism ? i feel for you tho i TRULY do, and it will get better guaranteed pam
  16. ok I cannot see it: Roark stopped into a strip club after a very long day, the gyrations and raw sexuality appealed to his animal nature and pleased him. "AH" he exclaimed, "life is good." as he tossed back a beer and a shot.
  17. I find these 2 characters a bit difficult to understand-especially the fact that Roark was so involved in love and friendship with them, respectively. They certainly were not living as Objectivists as Roark was-they didnt love or have a passion for anything it seems... I do realize they see the greatness and heroic in people but then they do not help the heroic instead they throw garbage on it and feed the looter mentality. Were they doing this out of disgust or hatred or love for the heroic that hurt too much to bear (this was in another thread here about Dom.) Thank you
  18. Was this ever posted here? http://www.nytimes.com/books/97/10/05/revi....05brookst.html Starting sentence:

    feminists

This has nothing to do with feminism or any ism I tried to read "We the Living" but it did not interest me, and I do NOT mean this with any sort of attitude, after a few pages I just did not want to continue. I felt that way a BIT when I started Atlas way back when but the book won me over big time. My favorite I know now is The Fountainhead, it enraptured me from the start and it still does. I am rereading it again. It is like butter on a burn. Pam
  20. If the plant was grown in contaminated soil I think it would be all through the plant and it's fruit, but I am not a botanist.
  21. how embarrassing, I actually was so taken with this whole ideology. http://derrickjensen.org Anyone else sometimes feel embarrassed about the ideas they were so excited about in their past?
