  1. They want to put out the fires they have already started before lighting a few more. I think its pathetic and cowardly, but nimble is right, that Bush fears losing the election so he is willing to lay low until November and hope that Iran or North Korea don't put plans into effect before then.
  2. I'd have to agree that you cannot have a loving relationship without all the aspects that are included in friendship. Your patrner is not only your lover, but your best friend if you have chosen to spend your entire life with them.
  3. I read a few reviews about it, and I can't decide whether or not I should see it. Some reviews just thought it was a teen comedy disguised, while others said it was well worth it. Either way it might be entertaining on some level.
  4. That is extremely cool. Space travel becoming a regular event seems pretty far off though. But when it hits, the commercial appeal of it won't be able to be stopped.
  5. I think some people have a hard time realizing this. Through the media and through our own racism and bias we have grouped everyone who is Muslim or Middle Eastern as a potential terrorist threat. This has allowed our government to manipulate public viewpoint on the issues of 9\11 as an excuse to go to war with Iraq for completely different reasons.
  6. Stevie Ray Vaughan, B.B. King, and to an extent Robert Cray, are some of my favorite blues musicians. It is truly one of the most unique musical genres, and I always find it relaxing which is important for me these day since my stress level has decided to skyrocket in the last year.
  7. I have a great respect for people who choose to abstain from these thing though I myself do not. I find drinking (not getting drunk, but having a drink or two) to be very stimulating to my mind. Not for clarity, but for relaxation primairly. Smoking is a habit that I have had for going on 4 years now, and I am trying to quit mostly because it is a very expenisve habit. I enjoy it, but knowing that I am killing myself has not become comforting any longer. as far as drugs, I smoked pot for a while but I found that it was damaging to me because I wouldn't do anything and would just lay around the house until I had to go to work or school. So, I wouldn't aggree with your look on drinking, but other than that I think it is great you have chosen to not pollute your body.
  8. How are we compromising? If anything we are not willing to back down. Granted I do not think we can at this point because all that will show is that their tactics are working and they will step it up. Wipe them out for all I care, its just one big pissing contest, and the US has been trying to show terrorists whose boss for over two decades, it is to the point now where one side will just have to wipe the other out.
  9. Since I have been a smoker for almost 4 years I am far from feeling indifferent about the subject. I can understand if people don't wish to inhale smoke while they eat, but like so many people have said, it should be up to the restaurant whether or not to ban smoking. And with the new ventilation systems that have come out which virtually eliminate smoke from the air in enclosed spaces, there is really no reason to not have a smoking section unless the owner chooses not to.
