JuleBrenner
Hi, this might be not only a question about this specific book, but about how those things are being done in general. Supposing I had an interest in translating OPAR into another language and having it published in that language in the countries speaking that language. What are the people, offices etc. that I would have to contact? And are there any legal qualifications required to do that? How do I find out whether the author allows for this to be done with his book? Is there any permanent collaboration between the foreign editing company, the original author, and myself required etc.? Or anything else to consider? Thanks Edited December 29, 2008 by JuleBrenner
intellectualammo
How do I find out whether the author allows for this to be done with his book? Visit the authors site and try contacting him via email.
softwareNerd
I assume that the publisher of a book should be able to tell you if there is interest in a translation of any of their books.
DavidOdden
And are there any legal qualifications required to do that? You must get written permission from the holder of the copyright (which in this case is the author).
