I originally signed on to Digg when someone suggested we bump stories, but the volumes are so high that it's of little point. I'll grant, it's extremely low-cost; but I suspect its almost zero return. It might be worthwhile to use Digg as it was intended: to highlight stories that one would actually like buddies to check out. Problem is the goal of "bumping" often conflicts with that goal, because one would want to Digg stories that they might not otherwise come across, rather that things they too are seeking to promote.
