I wanted to scream at my computer when I got to the "what good has thinking done for us anyway" parts. I just can't belive people can say this stuff with a straight face.

Well it was when I was younger and was still controled by a reglious mindset of Intrincisism. I noticed how Rand always had slender heroines and I thought that liking bigger girls somehow came into conflict with Objectivist aesthetics.

Well I think it is possible for an overweight person to be aesthetically intergrated. I had much unnesessary angest over this when I first decided to become an Objectivist because I have always been attracted to heavier girls.

Okay um I am not sure how to say this, and I don't want to get kicked off the forum. Since 6th grade I have been attracted to larger women. In my life I have consider only two skinny women to be sexually attarchtive. My Ex and Natalie Portman. I have tried to "overcome" this situation both before and after I found Objectivism. Right now I am in a reltesonship with a 5'11 foot girl who weighs roughly 300 pounds. I introduced Ayn Rand to her and she is now an huge fan. And honestly I have never felt happier in my life, she is my Dageny. Rand describs beauty as a sense of harmony and she fits that perfectly. Objectivism is not about feelings I am not saying "I feel Codi is beatiful" I am saying "Codi is beatiful".

This theard is made a lot. Shouldn't it be sticked or something so we don't have to have a flame war every time some newbie asks this question.

Is it sad that I find this all deeply funny? Maybe industrial capitalist western society has made me insensitive to the tragedy of these events. What a bunch of losers. It Ayn Rand’s term “anti-life” could only be used on one group of people I would use it on those Nazis

Ever notice how just about every hotel room in America comes equipped with a Gideon Bible? The Bibles are there simply there because the church gave them to hotels and the hotels put them in the rooms. I think an interesting way to promote Objectivism would to have the ARI or some like minded organization donate some of Ayn Rand’s fiction works to hotels, for the purpose of making them room fixtures.

Hi I am Steve. *everybody says Hi Steve* And Ayn Rand has changed my life for the better. I am currently a Senior in High School and I plan on majoring in History in Education. I once saw a post in a forum somewhere that said "I am a libertarian but I am not a crazy libertarian like those Ayn Rand types". This might have been the greatest example of reverse psychology I have ever seen, because after that I HAD to read anything I could find by Rand. I found Atlas Shrugged and loved it. I have also read CUI, VOS, PWNI, and The Fountainhead. Right now I am reading Objectivism: The Philosophy Ayn Rand and The Romantic Manifesto. I am reading about 15 books all together right now, which most likely is not a good idea. Well I guess there are worse things to be addicted to then books. Like most Objectivists I am having "slow conversion" to the ideals of Objectivist. Irrational ideas die slowly and my sense of life still needs some brushing up. (I have the habit of being a cynical person and I still need to purge the idea that I HAVE to have a girlfriend in High School) I hope to have some fun and productive discussions here
