TheEgoist
Yeah, these guys need a bailout. Lord knows my money can't support them alone!
kainscalia
What is neat about it? Now, we all know what Harry Flynt is like, this is obviously one of his customary jabs. This one, though, is well-placed--- it almost seems like something Tom Lehrer would have dreamt up for one of his songs (in the spirit of his rousing march "Smut"). Zip
Who could possibly need the money more? The porn industry has fallen on hard times. As investment money is spent they are left exposed to the perversions of a flaccid market. It's true! Nothing short of a swift and forceful insertion of government money will be able to stimulate these essential services.

Tenure
Seriously, the women leaving the Porn Industry would probably be worse effected than the people leaving the Auto Industry or Banking Industry. These people have skills and contacts that can probably help them get a job elsewhere. Many of them might stay unemployed, but they aren't inherently unemployable. A ex-porn star on the other hand has only one real skill, and, well... they might not end up unemployed, but you know what they will end up. Thales
I thought that when things got bad that's when industries like the porn industry thrive, because people are looking for escape. Anyway, if they want a bailout, then it's no holds barred and I think I should demand a little compensation myself. I'm not sure what for, but give me some time and I'll think of something! Listen, it’s easy, all the government has to do is print some extra bills for me and, voila, instant money. Productivity is passé.
Maximus
I'm sure they can find a ready market for thier unique skills.
K-Mac
Their skills aren't unique, just the fact that they will use those skills to earn a living.
LiberTodd
Great, now not only are taxpayers being forced to bend over and take it, but they're being filmed as well.

Hey, if she can use Microsoft Office, answer phones, and listen to complicated orders and execute them timely then any pornstar check can work as a secretary or receptionist. I'd hire a ex-porn star. Everyone in town would want to come to my office for... business meetings!

Nothing short of a swift and forceful insertion of government money will be able to stimulate these essential services. OK, by the time I got to "insertion," I understood "hard times." What do I score? Seriously, the women leaving the Porn Industry would probably be worse effected than the people leaving the Auto Industry or Banking Industry. These people have skills [...] that can probably help them get a job elsewhere. For a moment, I thought by "these people" you meant the women leaving the porn industry... Hey, jobs arent that plentiful these days for pornstar or non pornstar "checks". This isn't the 80s. Edited January 15, 2009 by pam
