ewv
[Mod's note: Merged with an earlier thread on taxes. - sN] Taxes: Asset Vs Income Tax... Does anyone know where AR commented on the issue of taxes on assets vs taxes on income? I vaguely remember an article, maybe in The Objectivist, which mentioned Sen. Kennedy's advocacy of higher income taxes that would not matter to him personaly because he already has so much in assets, and commenting that graduated income taxes prevent people from becoming wealthy and direct taxes on assets would plunder the wealth of the country. I didn't find it on the Oliver CD. Edited August 10, 2006 by softwareNerd
JMeganSnow
I don't personally recall any such thing but I think Ayn Rand stated that ALL involuntary taxes are evil; I doubt she would care about the specific nature of the evil tax. That would be like arguing with the thief over whether he can take your horse or your cow.
