dkur
Another favorite of mine is: Sic transit gloria mundi (thus passes away the glory of the world). It becomes more relevant as one gets older.
Steve D'Ippolito
"Sic transit gloria mundi" has a rebuttal of course--I first read it in Heinlein as a "quotation of Lazarus Long" but I suspect it came from somewhere else originally: "Tuesday is usually worse." daqueen46
In 8th grade, we had the computer analyze Bartlett's Quotations for the most common length of a quote. It was 6 words. I have a list of them that aren't from the book.. . Be careful with whom you breed. Take care of your rocking chair. Despite the OJ saga, Res Judicata.. All they want is your money. The constitution is senseless juror abuse. Stuff to inspire sarcasm is everywhere! "The Onus is on the Aware" ... (is a known legal precept.) Mood-Doom, what if it works? I'll add more later, it's fun.. -daqueen46
