How Obama Got Elected

Yep idiots repeating what they heard other idiots say. Just like I've been saying. This is how socialism spreads unchecked and largely unnoticed. It makes me sick that these people call themselves Americans.

Watching these clips are very VERY disturbing, yet not surprising at all. They show in a microcosm the level of intellectual decay that predominates America.

"Watching these clips are very"...Not a good way to start criticizing the ignorance of others.

On November 4th, 2008 millions of Americans were shocked that a man of Barack Obama's limited experience, extreme liberal positions and radical political alliances could be elected President of the United States. For many of these Americans, the explanation was rather simple... the news media, completely enamored with Obama, simply refused to do their job

Dare I even look further at this site and the BS it advocates when it becomes clear to me that the author is advocating censorship?

The news media is what it is.

Is it liberal? Is it conservative? Is it biased towards religion? Is it supposed to report the events as it sees them?

Nonsense.

if we are to preserve the right to free speech, we then take each report by the media at face value and stop assuming what their job is supposed to be.

TheEgoist, Miles White, and YES, thank you for the insult, now do you have anything of value to contribute to the topic?-other than ridiculing my didactic mistake?

None of this is really surprising, Erik. The very idea of freedom and rights are simply not on anybody’s radar screen, as if we can sustain a high level of living by wishing it so. Some people are that disconnected from reality.

I suggest looking at some videos on youtube of the McCain campaign and their racist, ignorant attendees for a "fair and balanced" view on things.

McCain is a statist, but he is no racist. I can’t say the same thing for Obama, not just because of the church he attended, but also because of the ideas he puts forth. He’s the postmodernist and he and the media made issue of his race.

I certainly was not calling McCain a racist. I'm calling many of his videotaped supporters racists, or at the least politically ignorant.

I'm sure some were, but I think it was a small minority. At the end of the day the problem here is we had two atrocious candidates and so that speaks poorly for a great chunk of the voters. At the very least the primary voters gave us a bad hand.

I would like to see some validation of this comment. Do you mean to imply that there were more people that voted for McCain because he was white then there were that voted for Obama because he's black? Because my tally of people I know personally, is quite the opposite; six votes for Obama because of his race and zero for McCain because of his.

Not that it would be impossible to dredge up a racist her or there, but this idea that white people hate black people in any significant percentages needs to be put to rest. White people are far too busy hating themselves to have much energy left for hating blacks.

I'm not denying ignorance and even racism on the Obama side.

However, consider this: would someone's nationality be brought up in an election who wasn't of a distinct minority ethnicity? Sure, it was brought up with McCain being born in Panama, for like a day? The whole accusation that he was born in Kenya or si a Kenyan or Indonesian citizen rings well with many because, well, hes black! WHo knows, after all!

For one example of extreme ignorance at a McCain campaign rally, see here. Thankfully there were also intelligent people to confront these people.

These are three videos showing McCain-Palin supporters. Don't know if anyones posted these or not yet.

They have no problem hating a black person because he is black.

*Although it is from Al-Jazeera, so some salt must be taken there.

Whether it is a valid point to inquire on or not, I fail to see how racism played a part. It is well known that McCain's Father was a soldier which is why his being born in Panama is of no consequence.

It is also known that Obama's father is a Muslim and that his campaign delayed releasing it for quite awhile. Those two points are a valid justification for doubt about personal loyalties while having a father who is an admiral in the navy is quite the opposite.

To be clear I am not attempting to make a case here for Obama being Kenyan. I am opposed to the point that painting the public's response on these issues as a racist response to the color of his skin is erroneous.

Had you taken the time to READ my post which responds to your link, I think you would have discerned my opinion on that site.

I know I myself have criticized the manner and content of how the media covered various news items.

That in no way means I support government trying to control the "truth" content of the media or "balanced coverage."

Both of those approaches amount to censorship. Censorship of the media is unconstitutional- don't you agree?
