Sir Andrew
Okay, so I noticed there is little to no wallpaper out there for us Objectivists, so I did a little photoshopping and I proudly present: Follow the link for the proper resolution, then select "Download" on the left hand side next to the thumbnail. 800x600 http://a-is-a.deviantart.com/art/Ayn-Rand-...0x600-106655252 1024x768 http://a-is-a.deviantart.com/art/Ayn-Rand-...4x768-106655640 1280x800 http://a-is-a.deviantart.com/art/Ayn-Rand-...0x800-106655719 1280x960 http://a-is-a.deviantart.com/art/Ayn-Rand-...0x960-106655756 1280x1024 http://a-is-a.deviantart.com/art/Ayn-Rand-...x1024-106655786 1600x1200 http://a-is-a.deviantart.com/art/Ayn-Rand-...x1200-106655813 If you have some weird resolution and would like one done custom, just send me a PM with your resolution and I'll make one for you

RussK
What is that? Chairman Rand? Yes, screw the desktop wallpaper, I'm going to print one and frame it behind my desk.
Randroid
Very nice. A bit of constructive criticism: About the only time I ever see my wallpaper is when I lock my workstation. On Windows systems, this displays a window saying that the workstation is locked and so on, slightly above the center of the screen. I believe other operating systems are similar. Therefore, a really good wallpaper should not use the center of the image as the center of attention. I have one of those weird resolutions (1440 x 900), but I guess that in this instance, the window would cover Miss Rand's forehead and hair. JMartins
No offense, but that wallpaper doesn't appeal to me at all. Suffice to say I don't think people who see it will be less inclined to think of Objectivism as a cult of personality.
RationalBiker
Suffice to say I don't think people who see it will be less inclined to think of Objectivism as a cult of personality. Why do you say that? Why would their opinion necessarily be important anyway? Are these people ones who would be making an informed opinion of the subject of Objectivism in the first place? How many of these people actually know what Objectivism is?
Space Patroller
What is that? Chairman Rand? No; THIS is "Chairman Rand" http://dancona.spacepatrol.us/randquote.html Submittals are welcome. I don't know how I can give proper credit. I guess I can do a credits page and link to it from the bottom of this page. They have to be quotes from Rand If I may suggest, How about making those rays in different colors
Sir Andrew
What is that? Chairman Rand? Hahaha, have I mistakenly resembled Red propaganda?
kainscalia
One person in Deviantart created a poster of Ayn Rand that ended up resembling Communist Propaganda in its style. She admitted to me that she had just begun reading Rand when she did it, and that now she understands how the artwork ended up defeating the purpose. But I asked her if I could do my own idea with what she had done, and she gave me permission as long as I credited her concerning the original artwork. So, here it goes: This is my reworking of http://lyrasilverblade.deviantart.com/art/...Stop-Me-5596916 by Lyra Silverblade.

What few perosns grasp is that it is very normal to celebrate a great person. Such a person is the physical home of the principles, ideas and spirit that one values. Miss Rand described friendship as "the celebration of one's values in the person of another". That is a vital thing. As true as we hold our ideas, what if we were never to find others who share or understand them? What if what we were getting from the external world was alla time the opposite? Whey this is crucial is that the external world and it's contents are the "given" in the generation of truth. Beyond that, we are hardwired to respond to the human form. Let me tell you. Ayn Rand was quite a person. Dubbed by Cecil B. DeMill "Little Cavier" and quite a spectacular person. In LIFE Magazine's "The Cult [written before "cult" had its sinister meaning] of Angry Ayn Rand" in late '66 or early '67. As far as the personal description of her behavior, you were almost compelled to like her for her spunk and personal style. She came off larger than life. In fact, she comes off the better for the article and far from an angry person (and I read this before I became a fan. In fact when I read in that article about Objectivism, I was under the impression that this was a device to sell her books and I thought "It's kind of overdone but if that's what she wants to do to sell her books, I've got no complaint, but I'm not gonna get fished in. I'm too smart for that". Famous Last Words ). And just try reading her notes or journals or whatever. It'll put you through the wringer. I loved every minute of it. If anyone tells you she lacked depth of understanding of metaphyscis. which I was told by the best: members of the Philosophy department at Providence College, it's because she didn't talk aobut a quarter of what she knew. I'd just like to know where she got it all and where she kept it: you couldn't put that much in one person. I think she had two twin sisters that nobody knew about. Come to think of it, I never saw her and Pallas Athena in the same place at the same time. Edited April 25, 2009 by Space Patroller
