  1. I see it as insurance. When there is a contract to pay out the insurance company better. Should the government force actions? Never. The government's role is to prevent force actions. When you have a society of people who respect body and property, you don't need government.
  2. As long as you don't take it by force or intimate force against him his property or anyone else, you're fine. It's not your problem the guy got the short end of the stick. He should hav "made the choice;" life.
  3.    I think it's just showing how free and uncompromising Galt is.
  4. I'm going to go out on a limb and say I think that it should be illegal for the state to punish people for not wanting to take care of others.
  5. There is no proof either way. So you're saying that free-will necessarily exists in this plane?
  6. He wouldn't think that way, and since he's Galt his way goes. Anyways, it's not his fault you would find a subjective comment or objective facts annoying.
  7. you would react to non-force with force? He's justified in making any fun of you he wants, now.
  8. I'm not scared of dying exactly (I should have specified). I 'm scared of being murdered/robbed and shot etc. That, to me, seems like a different kind of death. Life, the one true value to me, ripped out of my hands. It would be like "society" never actually existed, that we never actually left (the jungle). But what's even worse about that is I don't believe in an afterlife, so that we never left? I won't even know (don't know if this deserves a period or exclamation point). And there's something worse to me: what if I get an afterlife and the one true love I have doesn't!?? What then? I'd or that I don't get and he doesn't get an afterlife either so bad it requires a smiley face
  9. You wouldn't even notice John Galt. He's basically a non-entity. But okay, you know what I'd say? I'd say "Draw me a house."
  10. I just want to inspire someone. I'm going to be going to a private college because I don't believe in public education. I'm going to take out loans and pay them back after I graduate. I'm going to do everything in my power to pay back the loans. In fact, I think it will be easy given my choice of career.
  11. Well, Noam chomsky may have proven humans have an innane INNATE LOL sense of language and thus the concepts behind them. As to whether or not we inherit our parents' conditions/memories is probably yet to be proven. I hope this could be of some help Are you the things you do or are you pure and simple your own existence?
  12. If you do not create anything, only consume, you are a second hander. If you try, to the best of your ability to create, you are first-hander. As Francisco said, "those who do not earn their money lose it." If you were to make your money by getting the better of others you are probably the same person who will blow all their money. When the time comes the money stops what will you have? Make the most of the charity you recieve, spend it on anything productive. You don't need a degree in biophysics, just be self supportive and you're fine.
  13. I will here type the end all of the debate. Please note that what it finally comes down to is a belief. A belief in god is a belief in, possibly not a creator, but something more. A spiritual belief is equal to a god belief. One can believe there is, or is not more to the universe than just atoms, npe's, quarks, and deeper. If you believe in free will you imperatively must believe there is an irreducible primary that is the mind or another plane in which the mind resides. There are many variations on what one can believe. They can believe they are the only one in existence. They are not true athiests. They, by imperative, believe they are god, even if they don't know it. I assert some believe they have free will, but it's just a feeling or a thought created by their synapses. Do you believe in chaos (free will) or order (predetermination) is determined by your brain. Now, it's possible that the brain is just a medium which the mind works through. If our minds are a medium, there is indeed another world. It's possible, though, that a consciousness (brain+mind) needs both to survive, and once we die in body, so we die in mind. Now, someone else might be better at figuring out creation order or possibility in the brain, mind duality.
  14. Okay, he didn't slow down the train muc, so what.
  15. If Rand's philosophy is making you unhappy you're either a monster or.............you're doing it wrong like this.
  16. 1.How I feel now 2.How I'm going to feel later. Should I draw the pyramid?
  17. If you breed two black bears you won't once get a grizzly. I don't believe in free-will so I believe there is human scum.
  18. Depends, are you an athiest try to move consciousness foreward, a god loving man who wants a child to raise, both, or somewhere in between?
  19. Galt was giving them a chance with his speech. He gave the answer and said, basically, "accept or perish." He always left the choice up to them. What else is there? You wanted him to say "accept my morality, perish, or come and live off of me"?
